The Graphite Gallery of Cumbria.

Our gallery shop is situated at 75a Main street in the middle of Keswick, a historic market town at the heart of the lake district's heritage. We have a gallery of artwork of originals and prints large and small, cards, keyrings, mugs, fridge-magnets, local minerals from many important mines and a selection of books, antiques and artefacts relating to local historical trades and life in the lake district.

OPENING TIMES;
Saturday to Thursday, 12 AM to 5 PM but sometimes we may open not open some days and we can open on request. We can accept most types of card payment and £ cash.

We have a gallery of artwork of originals and prints large and small, cards, keyrings, mugs, fridge-magnets, local minerals from many important mines and a selection of books, antiques and artefacts relating to local historical trades and life in the lake district.

Sunday to Wednesday, 11 AM to 5 PM but some weeks we may open on Thursday or Saturday also or we can open on request. We can accept most types of card payment and £ cash.

We also have a free mini museum of unusual and interesting artefacts from historic Cumbrian and local trades including mining and quarrying that visitors are welcome to browse and can learn more about from our helpful staff. Some of our exhibits are unusual and surprising, a lot went on in Keswick in them thar days!

Helen and Jeremy have spent many years in Cumbria and elsewhere exploring the fells and researching industrial history such as gunpowder making and would be pleased to provide advice to visitors on many historical places of interest and remains to visit in the fells in much of Cumbria.

We will also be expanding this website to include a heritage page to suggest some of the many of interest for people to visit in the fells that are part of the true Cumbrian story of how our ancestors lived and worked. Our prints are in A5, A4 and A3 sizes framed and unframed. We can also frame or mount prints to order for the next day or so if not in stock. A4 mounted prints can be posted and originals and framed or mounted prints may be delivered locally or collected later.

He and other volunteers talk to visitors about life in Cumbria, mining at this mine and others which will hopefully restart next year. Force Crag mine has a fascinating history and a visit is highly recommended. Although it is not possible at the moment, we intend to offer guided walks to mining and other heritage sites in the Derwent district or further afield in the future.
